SCOPE OF EXPERIENCE:
Partnership for Regional Livability (a Center for Neighborhood Technology [Chicago] project responsible for four White House Task Force projects of Livable
Communities). As Executive Director planned and administered a program in accordance with PRL’s mission and Strategic Plan; organized and recruited Coordinating Committee (WHTF Executive Director, HHS Deputy Counselor, McArthur Foundation, Housing Director federal Office of Budget and Management and four regional representatives including Bay Area Sustainable Development); developed, hired and supervised staff; prepared budget, directed financial operations, conducted community relations, networked with experts, coordinated four national regional pilot programs, initiated problem solving, directed communications program on several levels.Town of Fairfax and Benicia (Bay Area). Successful management of public participation program for revising general plans to include sustainable development principles. Extensive use of planning knowledge and skills for issue facilitation and public
participation. Initiated successful stakeholder’s process to address need for
affordable housing.Carquinez Strait Resource Management Project. Directed State Lands commission's Carquinez Strait four-part "mitigation" program developed in conjunction with the Commission's approval of the Crockett Cogeneration facility. Program includes a local-state intergovernmental agreement for coordinating regional resource planning; a status and trends report on the public trust resources and uses in the region; a plan to coordinate and integrate recreation, public access and public trust resource management within the Carquinez Strait; and establish a 501(c)(3) Trust.
San Joaquin River Conservancy. Project manager for regional resource management plan programmatic EIR.
Sacramento River Greenway. Directed development of 31-mile greenway plan,
coordinated multiple jurisdictions and managed CEQA preparation.California Rivers Report. Directed program to assess status of rivers, identify problem
activities and alternatives; editor in chief for report, coordinated diverse professionals such as geomorphologists, biologists, hydrologists, archaeologists and resource managers; identified federal, state and local regulations and jurisdictions; developed watershed legislative program for Senate Subcommittee on River Protection and Restoration.Aquatic Resource Policy. Manager of State Lands Commission policy group to develop and recommend water policy programs and approaches including water quality,
riparian restoration, and watershed management.Delta Project. Directed program to prepare status and trends report; legislative program
